In 2019 I was commissioned jointly with Simon Crofts by East Lothian Health Fund and Round Table Projects to create large scale collages for the new East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington. We worked on this project throughout the year taking pictures in key locations in East Lothian (also with a drone!) as well as 130 members of the hospital’s staff to be woven in together in an 8 meters piece and a 4 meters piece in the main lobby area of the building. The idea of the collage as a Portrait of East Lothian commemorates also my parents-in-law (and Simon’s parents) Dodie and Percy Crofts, who spent almost 60 years in this area and were closely connected with the community. The installation was completed in February 2020 and the two main colleges are now on display in Haddington.
